District heating through the use of thermal water
Geothermal energy with thermal water as a resource, hydrogen storage, lithium - the underground in Germany is an important resource so that the energy transition, and in particular the heat transition, can succeed with the help of digital geology. In order to develop the underground reservoirs sustainably and reliably, geologists use modern algorithms and integrate multi-layered data into cross-scale models. With his new research group at the Fraunhofer IEG, Florian Wellmann now wants to translate the models into successful explorations for industry and municipalities.
